Up for an award and new staff: The Stockton beauty business that's thriving - despite Covid

Innovations Advanced Skincare and Beauty is one of the six finalists in the Large Salon of the Year category

A Stockton beauty business has been recognised in the Professional Beauty Awards after a difficult year of covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

Innovations Advanced Skincare and Beauty, on West Row, is one of the six finalists in the Large Salon of the Year category, and it is the only salon selected from the North East.

Salon owner and clinic director, Jolene Rees, has been at the helm and has seen the salon go from strength to strength, despite the restrictions and closures since March 2020.

“Even with all of the obstacles the last 18 months and covid-19 has thrown at us, we feel that we have achieved so much," she said.

“After such a tough year for our business and our industry, we decided to send our admission in to the judges and were elated when the announcement came through that we were through to the finals.

The Professional Beauty Awards is the largest awarding body in the beauty industry and entries flood in each year from across the country.

Jolene said: “It would be absolutely incredible to win but we are also extremely proud just to be recognised and to represent Stockton in front of so many other amazing businesses in our industry!”

Innovations has been an established salon at the heart of Stockton for the past 20 years, and Jolene and the team have loved sharing their achievement with the local community.

The salon specialises in skinpen microneedling facials, chemical peel facials, HD brows, lash lifts, and gel nails, to name just a few of the treatments available. Visit here for further information/

And Jolene added: “We have been so busy with our return after our lockdown closures and the announcement of being a finalist that we have even had to take on another therapist."
