Operation Shield is a major community safety initiative, led by Stockton Borough Council in partnership with Cleveland Police and local organisations including Stockton BID, Recovery Connections, CGL, The Moses Project, and Wellington Square. The aim is clear: to make Stockton Town Centre safer and strengthen public confidence.
Since its launch earlier this year, Operation Shield has:
Licensing inspections not only ensure compliance with the Licensing Act but also provide an opportunity for businesses to share intelligence and raise concerns, strengthening cross-departmental collaboration.
Operation Shield will continue to address anti-social behaviour, crime, and addiction in the town centre, combining robust enforcement with support for those who need it.
If you witness or are affected by anti-social behaviour or crime in Stockton Town Centre, please use the contact details below. Reporting incidents helps us build an evidence base on offenders and hotspot areas, which can be used in court and to shape how resources are deployed.
